small birds

I'm popping into Arts off Main this week to swap off these little mixed media drawings ~ something affordable for Christmas. They are small, image size only 5.25" x 3.25", and framed/matted to 8" x 6" x 1.5". I doubt I'll do this size again as they take almost as long to do as larger work!

Awww... these are such sweet little guys! This style of yours, as others have said, looks so much like block prints. I imagine it's very meditative for you to do them.

Thanks! Though they're drawings the basic premise is the same as relief printing, i.e. working with negative space.

what a tweet. my favorite is the first, that look of confident curiosity and my also favorite is the fourth: that sense of comfy confusion is the way i want to live :^)

i hope they fly off their little walls into eager hands.

I love these! You're right, these take just as long to do as large ones...something people don't always understand. If you don't work small, normally, they can sometimes take longer! Knowing you will sell, every single one! :)

Is that a cardinal, bottom left? At any rate, beautiful work!

These are beautiful, and look as though they could be linocuts. Maybe something to think about- if you make prints, that would certainly help with the time factor, since you make the original image only once. Anyway, I love them!
