rotating billboards

During my photographic field trip on Sunday I had two rotating billboard 'experiences'. The first happened when I got several photos of this crow in front of one. I was so inspired by the results that I made my first-ever slide-show movie -- seventeen whole seconds of Oscar-nomination worthiness:

Then I was passing this one and chanced to look between the two sides of the double-sided sign. Beauty lurks in the strangest places:

It got me wondering about rotating billboards. I remembered this quote
Getting information off the internet is like taking a drink from a fire hydrant.
~ Mitchell Kapor
and figured it would be easy to find something. Online fail. This news story of aluminum slat theft and this one about obituaries were the high points and, as a result, made me realize I'm spending way too much time on the interwebz these days.

Love the billboard and crow... but then like you and Ellen I rather like crows...

I have finally figured out how to comment on your new blog - its doesn't work in my normal browser which is an absolute pain since blogger is defaulting to this style of comment form on new blogs these days...

That's absolutely incredible...great as a work of art just as it is and also great fodder for future work. I also know how you feel about the internet - our computer crashed and we went without for a couple of weeks as we decided what to replace our old PC with, and I have to say that the creative juices have been flowing since.

Ellen: Check out your programs for Windows Live Movie Maker and then just experiment. That's what I did. Careful, though -- it's addicting!

Caroline: Yay! So happy to see you here again. I've been abandoned by so many of my old blog buddies that it's heartening when one comments occsionally.

Veronica: I'm already in Cecil B. DeMille mode, wondering what I can make next and, as someone who hates "reading the directions", how I can smooth out the learning curve. (And I could do with an internet fail right now, too...)

Maybe lots of people are having the same problem with their browsers not letting them comment... I must admit I've tried several times and thought to mention it on FB but then got distracted so have forgotten too...

Is there still time to submit it and win an Oscar by Sunday? Do you have something to wear?
