holiday art stuff

I think the best Christmas presents do double duty: benefit a favourite cause while also giving you something you can wrap up for a friend or loved one. (Of course buying original art from a starving artist is good, too, but I digress.) These limited edition prints from The Endangered Species Print Project are a perfect example.

The Endangered Species Print Project offers limited-edition art prints of critically endangered species. The number of prints available corresponds with the remaining animal or plant populations. For example, only 45 Amur Leopards remain in the wild, so for this edition, only 45 prints will ever be made. An organization whose mission is to the ensure the survival of the species depicted, is chosen to receive 100% of the sales price of each print.

The two prints of the red wolf are the latest additions to the project; I love them both.

If you live in the Vancouver area and happen to be Christmas shopping downtown or on Granville Island, pop into the Federation Gallery on Cartwright Street for the Spilsbury Medal Show. Look for this small painting of mine while being wowed by the works on display by some of Canada's most accomplished artists.

Hi,
I came over from 'a good snapshot'. What a lovely idea; the Endangered Species Print Project. And how nice of you to promote it. I also went over to the site of the Federation Gallery to look at your painting. Beautifully done. Good luck with the exhibition.
