There are several things on the go in my studio right now but I just wanted to post this little companion piece to the one in my last post. Weirdly enough, it took less than half the time to paint than the previous one.
It's based, loosely, on
this drawing. It's a tree I see almost daily in my neighbourhood.

That is GORGEOUS! Love the colours, the composition, the movement ... a beautiful piece of work.
It reminds me a bit of holly... It just seems a bit spiky. I love how the trunk forms a question mark... or crescent wrench! ;-)
Very Pratt. Now get back to work! cracks bull whip and runs...
wow! are those leaves or bolts of energy?
love this. a. lot.
Hey thanks all. I think the fact that this painting was a lot faster results in that feeling of energy here.
andrea, i'm looking at these branches and thinking how you mix colors like no one else. i'd know your work anywhere.

I hope you don't mind, I want to comment on your photo blog.
Thanks, I love finding a new way to look at the world, almost every day.
It gives me inspiration and a way to be inspired to go on....
It's like finding treasure, just tucked away in the every day, good on you don't stop!
KJ: Just what I need to hear right now as I try and juggle three completely different styles. I worry that I'm too fractured to build a proper body of work.
Jo: I love it that you commented on my photo blog here! I have no idea who reads it, if anyone, as I have chosen to keep it as starkly minimalist as possible. And though it's sort of an ongoing personal project I do love to share, so I very much appreciate your feedback. Thank you so much.
