blue stucco

blue stucco

Here is a drawing to fill this space since I have very few words right now. I'm getting mentally prepared to paint some cityscapes in oil, even though it's the sales of my landscape drawings that are paying for the supplies. Spending several hours inhaling toxic fumes while priming panels and underpainting canvases today hasn't helped the brain function. I wish spring would arrive and let me open the windows.

These pussywillows are forging ahead regardless. They didn't have a winter getaway to Mexico either but they're not letting it interfere with their output, are they?

Beautiful drawing!

I've actually been playing with the idea of some cityscapes too. I'm quite scared by the idea since it seems so different from what I usually paint, but I'm really drawn to the patterns and textures when I gaze out at the city, so the result will probably be very similar to what I do anyway. Can't wait to see yours!

You're a toxic fumes dependent without hope of cure :D
The detail of this decadent building is so captivating and so beautiful in its colours!

And yes, Spring is happily coming :)

A. & F. -- Thanks for commenting, seeing as I have so little will to comment myself these days -- on anything. Must be those fumes.

I love this drawing, but I'm still laughing at the link that brought me here. You rock Andrea!

I'm at a loss. How do you do stucco? It's very effective.

love it. we have a lot of blue light, blue snow right now, so that building would fit right in.

love your comment on the pussywillows. The willow trees are suddenly sporting golden branches.... sap is flowing. I've decided that I not only WANT a willow, I NEED one. such an abundant source of early pollen for the beneficials who wake early...

Oh, it's enchanting! I know what you mean about not having the energy to blog. I was so burned out from family illness last year, I took 8 months off from blogging, etc. I just couldn't. So now, I guess I'm making up for lost time! :) On a serious note, I spend so much time alone in the studio during the week, I relish stopping to check in on FB, Twitter, etc. I generally don't check in on the weekends. Okay, I guess I'm done. :) Happy weekend, dear one.

Ellen: My dirty little secret! (that only you and Di know about.)

Ian: Patience is the skill, many small dots and squiggles is the technique.

Hayden: I remember there being a ton of those trees around where I grew up. Now I actually go on a "field trip" every February to collect my annual pussywillow bouquet.

Indigene: My blogging is mostly just pictures anyway. But I look forward to the social interaction, too. I'll wave at you from my studio. :)
