Yesterday I finished a commission for the owner of this drawing.
I would like to have an October moon in the composition and possibly a north star. The moon holds special meaning for me as October the 29th is my anniversary and while we were apart, the moon was the one connection we had, we always saw the same moon. My husband has just moved from Northern Ontario where the North Star is very visible.
I actually did two drawings and wasn't satisfied that the first was what she was looking for, but submitted both without telling her which was the 'correct' one. She knew right away. I love being right. :)

By gum! Your black paper drawings are hard to beat!
Ooooo - love this. Very much. (I was looking at the near-full moon in the middle of the night last night - golden moon, with a large golden-frosty circle around it, bordered with a rusty-orange ring. Then a thin, pale ring outside of that. Very cool)...
still interested in trading drawings at some point?
so lovely!
:) love it
Thanks, peeps. It was fun doing one of these again, especially as that October moon was waxing. I'm feeling like I want to do more night skies now. (And Tara: yes!)
Andrea - this is lovely! I love the movement throughout this piece, and the colors are gorgeous.
BeAUTIful!
I love getting comments from a couple of my earliest blogging friends! Thanks for stopping by.
love it :)
how romantic!
I like the moonlight shining on the grass.
It's gorgeous. I love the twinkle :)
Gorgeous ... has me feeling melancholy..
Beautifully ethereal. How did you achieve the effect in the sky? Is that gel pen or colored pencil? Whatever it is, it's stunning.
It's coloured pencil in layers. I don't think there's any gel pen in this one except maybe the highlights on the tree trunks/branches.
